Revision Course Dates & Exam Information
Each module ends with a classroom phase, two weeks of revision in Clevedon timed to occur immediately before each exam phase. The purpose of the two-week intensive revision course is to consolidate your learning, correct any misunderstandings and prepare you for the exams.
Prior to attending the classroom phase, you must have passed all your lessons and progress tests. To get the best out of the revision course in Clevedon, you must have completed and thoroughly revised your self-study material. If everything has been completed honestly, you will be well prepared.
You should arrive on the first Monday before 08:45. Some revision courses run through public holidays and you will be expected to attend each day. You will complete the revision course on a Friday and begin your exams on the following Monday. Much of the time is spent working through practice papers and debriefing your results so there is very little time to cover new material. While intensive, the results speak for themselves – most Bristol Groundschool students pass all the exams first time.
The CAA are introducing electronic exam sittings using a system which has been in service for some time in Malaysia and other States. The exam centres will be at Gatwick, Oxford (CAE), Luton, Southampton (CTC), Leicester and Perth (Scotland), New Zealand although the main centre will be at Gatwick. The exam dates for June remain as published and we are expecting that the CAA will make extra dates available, although we have yet to hear when these will be.
If you intend to book an exam for June 2014 or later please do not send us an ‘old style’ paper application. The new system requires you to register your personal details at a CAA portal available through www.caa.co.uk and provide proof of identity. Once the CAA have accepted this you will be able to use the portal to book exams. The CAA advise us that the portal will become active on 1 May 2014.
