Bristol Groundschool has become the first pilot training specialist to augment their training materials with artificial intelligence
Their new AI Tutor is included in their computer-based training application (ATPdigital). Students can ask questions related to their syllabus and the tutor will provide a comprehensive answer – drawing from the full archive of BGS study material. The AI Tutor is also available in the BGS Question Bank (BGSonline).
EASA is confident that AI has the potential to transform the world of aviation. Last year they published the second version of their AI roadmap, outlining tentative policies. The UK CAA is also developing a strategy on the innovative use of AI, which is available on their website.
The CAA says: “The aviation industry continues to embrace the transformative power of AI. It already enhances safety and efficiency through predictive maintenance, aiding air traffic management and refining pilot training. The future of AI will usher in a new era in aviation.” The CAA will soon release the results of a survey into how they might regulate the use of AI.
