Bristol Groundschool is pleased to offer the opportunity to be tagged by Jet2.com as part of the airline’s Jet2NextGen future pilot talent programme.
The programme provides selected students with the opportunity to be identified by Jet2.com during their training, with Bristol Groundschool supporting the initial selection and referral process.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
- Hold a valid UK CAA PPL.
- Hold a valid Class 1 Medical.
- Meet the required English language proficiency standard: a minimum of IELTS Academic 5.5 or ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5.
- If you have completed Module 1, you must not yet have attended a Module 2 Revision Week at Bristol Groundschool.
- If you have not yet completed Module 1, you must not be booked to attend a Module 1 or Module 2 Revision Week within one month of submitting your application.
- Be prepared to attend your Module 1 or Module 2 Revision Week in person at Bristol Groundschool.
Please check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying. Students who have already progressed beyond the Module 2 Revision Week stage are not eligible to apply for a Jet2 Tagged Place through Bristol Groundschool.
Personal Statement – Initial Selection Stage
As part of the first stage of the selection process for a Jet2 Tagged Place through Bristol Groundschool, you will be asked to submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words as part of the application form.
Please address the following question:
Why do you believe you are a strong candidate for a Jet2 Tagged Place, and how do your experience, behaviours and aspirations align with Jet2’s values?
Within your statement, please include specific examples demonstrating:
- How your personal values and behaviours align with those of Jet2.
- Your motivation for pursuing a career as a professional pilot and, specifically, your interest in joining Jet2.
- How you have demonstrated a commitment to supporting and developing others through education, employment, volunteering, sport, mentoring or other experiences.
- How you would contribute positively to a collaborative, professional and supportive training environment at Bristol Groundschool and, ultimately, within Jet2.
We are keen to understand not only what you have achieved, but also how you work with others, what you have learned from your experiences, and the qualities you would bring to Jet2 as a future pilot.
Your personal statement should reflect your own experiences, thinking and communication style. The use of AI-generated content may affect your progression to the next stage of the selection process.
Selection Process
The process will be as follows:
Stage 1 – Application and personal statement
Complete the application form, including your personal statement and CV upload. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will then be considered for shortlisting.
Stage 2 – Module 1 or 2 Revision Week assessment
Shortlisted candidates will attend their Module 1 or 2 Revision Week (if you have not attended any revision week with BGS, in person or online, you will be expected to attend the Module 1 revision week, in person at Bristol Groundschool. During the week, BGS instructors will assess specific attributes relevant to the programme and produce a short candidate report.
Stage 3 – UK CAA examinations
Candidates must sit and pass their UK CAA examinations for Module 1. If you have already sat your Module 1 exams, please enter your results in the Notes field below.
Stage 4 – ATO Candidate Referral Form
Following successful completion of the relevant stages, an applicant can request via email ([email protected]) for the ATO Candidate Referral Form to be completed by Bristol Groundschool on behalf of the applicant
