Pioneering Flight Theory Training Software – ATPdigital
Learning is more memorable when the course materials are engaging. We have pioneered a computer-based training system called ATPdigital: the first software of its kind in the industry.
It breaks your course into bitesize stages, guiding you through your studies with interactive diagrams, animations, and explainers. Pass quizzes at the end of each section to progress with your studies. Watch your knowledge grow with a dashboard overview of your learning.
ATPdigital is available for Windows and Mac OS PCs and laptops. There’s also an iOS app available for iPad. Once installed the software can also be used offline allowing you to study from any location with no internet connection.
ATPdigital also incorporates the same question bank as BGSonline, enabling you to carry out practice exams if you do not have access to the internet.
When you log in to ATPdigital you will land on the ‘Dashboard’ – below. On the ATPdigital dashboard, your course progress is on the right of the page. You can navigate between the modules and lessons contained within your course on the left of the dashboard.
To amend the progress dates for each module, press the edit dates icon at the top of the graph next to My Progress.
To navigate between your course modules, click on the the drop-down menu located at the top left of the dashboard. For launching a lesson simply click on your chosen lesson.
ATPdigital consists of lessons and progress tests arranged in one or more ‘modules’ or ‘phases.”
In general, the materials are organised into ‘topics.’ Each topic has one or more CBT lessons, followed by a progress test. Each lesson concludes with a short quiz that students can use to check their understanding. This system is used to indicate that a lesson is complete when the quiz is passed.
On the ‘Dashboard’ you will see, in the bottom left corner of the screen, buttons for ‘Sync now’ and ‘Update content’.
[Sync] synchronises your progress across your devices and the admin system.
[Update] downloads any new updates/content that has been added to the App. This happens regularly.
If you are using ATPdigital on an iPad, we recommend you update the iPad content at the beginning of each session and synchronise it when you finish. The PC and Mac versions synchronise automatically whilst connected to the internet.
Below are some screen shots from ATPdigital to show you the key features and how they work.
ATPdigital incorporates a condensed version of the BGSonline question bank. You can navigate to this from the dashboard by clicking the EXAMS icon at the bottom of the page. Here you can set yourself a small quiz or a full timed exam, the timed exams contain the number of questions that will be in your official exam. Use the review tests tab to view your previous tests taken during the course.
When you launch a lesson, you can navigate between the pages by using the arrows at the bottom left and right of each page.
There is a free text search option at the top of the page allowing you to search for a particular keyword within the lesson or the whole course if required. Each lesson incorporates images and some also feature videos, you can click on an image to see an expanded version of the image.
Quizzes and Progress Tests
You are quizzed at the end of each lesson. It contains exam-like questions to test your understanding of the topic you just studied. When you reach the last page of the lesson, click the next page icon to open the menu shown below. Select the [Start Quiz] icon to begin. If you want to exit the lesson, click on the x at the top right of the page. This will bring up the menu below, allowing you to exit the lesson and return to the main dashboard.
We will present you with a progress test at the end of a series of consecutive lessons related to the same subject. The test will contain exam-style questions which are relevant to the lessons you have studied. You need to achieve a 75% pass mark in this test, which is the same as the official examination. You can attempt progress tests a number of times if you would like.
