We hear from Chester Searle who has recently been offered a role with LoganAir, he shares his thoughts on modular training and some advice to future students.
What made you choose the modular route over integrated?
The ability to be flexible allowed me to study whilst I worked which reduced the financial burden. It also allowed me to start courses when it suited me.
Would you recommend BGS for their ATPL study, and why?
I can’t fault BGS for the ATPL study. I studied in the evenings and weekends during COVID which was intense but the content at BGS was very good and the online webinars and access to answers from instructors made the process much simpler.

- APS MCC: VA Airline Training
Would you recommend VA for the APS MCC Course and why?
VA was very good. It felt like a mini-type rating and certainly made the TR much easier. The standard of tuition was really impressive. It was very well organised and professional and really took you from a licence holder to a commercial pilot.
What advice would you give to other budding modular students from your experience?
My advice would be to keep going! It feels like the end is never in sight but just keep doing it one step at a time and eventually, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
